Plans by Elon Musk to found a new AI business are starting to take shape. The CEO of Twitter recently disclosed that he is thinking about founding a company that might compete with OpenAI and Google in the IT industry.

In a Fox News interview, Musk said he wanted to build a "maximum truth-seeking AI that tries to understand the nature of the universe" and "hopefully does more good than harm." His intended company name is "TruthGPT."

Musk's AI goals have recently been the subject of rumors, despite the fact that he acknowledges that he is starting late and is at a disadvantage in comparison to his competitors. He reportedly bought hundreds of GPUs, registered a company called X.AI Corp, and hired DeepMind researchers for an unnamed Twitter AI project. Although it's unclear if the two projects are connected, Musk is renowned for shifting personnel among his businesses.

Musk is motivated by his worries about the direction AI is taking and the possible danger it poses to humans. He was an early supporter of OpenAI, which he assisted in founding in 2015, but withdrew his support after a disagreement with Sam Altman about who should lead the organization. He recently criticized OpenAI for partnering with Microsoft and spinning off a for-profit company.

Although it's unclear how Musk's AI efforts would influence Twitter, he did hint to a future addition to the platform. According to reports, Twitter is developing a feature that will let users encrypt their direct communications.

Musk, a well-known supporter of secure messaging services, has long pushed for Signal-style encryption on Twitter. He said that users can turn on encryption if they are having a conversation they feel is sensitive so that no one on Twitter can hear what they are saying.

In conclusion, Musk is making progress with his intentions to start TruthGPT, a new AI business that will compete with OpenAI and Google. Despite having a late start, his AI goals have sparked rumors, and he is apparently spending a lot of money on GPU technology and employing DeepMind experts.

Although it's unclear how his intentions would impact Twitter, the social media site is developing a long-awaited feature that will enable users to encrypt their direct conversations, a tool Musk has been supporting for years.
